Review: Gigaware Pico Pocket Projector

Model Number 25-1199, on clearance from RadioShack.

I can see why it was on clearance; poor quality, best with a completely dark room, limited adjustment. But put those aside what is good about it? – I found that it works great on-the-go, I used it to display camcorder video in a conference room. It also has its own battery, so that I did not have to worry about extension cords. The input cable has both RCA connectors and a VGA connector. In addition, it was extremely portable, with it being so small I could slip it into my laptop bag. I also tested various locations of the device, and found that has a clear image of 54 inches; 4 inches more than described.

Now for the cons, first obviously it is tiny so the settings and image will be limited, I don’t know why anyone would assume otherwise. There is a very sensitive knob on the side that adjusts the focus, it only adjusts slightly. Forget about using the built-in speakers, they are small and shitty. It comes with a tiny tripod, but the cable is too heavy so it tips over. I used a camera tripod instead. The project includes a small clip with a tripod mount. The only thing is the projector slides off the clip, and I have almost dropped the projector twice. (Extremely bad design.) I would not suggest carrying it in your pocket, it is very sensitive and has cheap flimsy housing. Reviewed: 7 out of 10.

  • Lightweight, portable
  • Displays up to 54 inches max, 50 inches recommended
  • Rechargeable battery or power adapter
  • VGA or RCA connectors

  • Cheap flimsy housing
  • limited focus adjustment
  • Needs low light conditions
  • Crappy tripod
  • Clip that secures projector to tripod do not stay on
  • Built-in speakers sounds like cellphone speaker

Review of the TV product: Twin Draft Guard System

Terrible. Air blows over the draft guards, too much slack in the material and it slides off every time I open the door. The lightweight foam inside is not heavy enough to conform to the floor. Beware! Do not get dragged into this cheap crap. BTW: The original dual draft guard TV product was purchased.
